Oil tank installations and oil tank replacements for home heating has always been at the core of Tank Services’ skills. We provide Domestic Tank Services for tank running oil fired appliances such as boilers, AGA and Rayburns. Decommissioning and Fuel Tank Removal is undertaken by our teams of friendly OFTEC (Oil Firing Technical Association) qualified engineers. Because our teams are experienced, trained and fully insured for domestic and commercial installation work you can have complete peace of mind. So Tank Services are the team to trust with over 16 Years Experience our Tank Removal Services are second to none.
We also offer Domestic Oil Tank Cleaning Services. We can remove sludge from the bottom of fuel and oil tanks. The process for fuel tank cleaning is relatively simple. So first we pump out the healthy fuel from the tank into a temporary tank whilst we remove the dirt. We also give the inside of the tank a good wipe around to remove any residual muck.
Do you feel your garden deserves better than to have a big green eyesore in it? Then we’ve got good news! We have the ability to decommission and remove underground fuel tanks and replace them! Because Underground tanks keep all the ugly fuel works out of sight leaving you to attend to your topiaries.
The procedures for replacing domestic home heating oil tanks and commercially sized tanks are essentially the same.
Typically, after the initial site survey, to assess the current oil tank installation, we’ll check your garden for access. Then we perform an Environmental Risk Assessment for oil storage. Then we present a solution that will comply with current building regulations, oil storage regulations and OFTEC guidelines. After agreeing with the quotation cost and on your instruction, we will commence the oil tank removal and replacement by:
Pumping out your existing heating oil to our holding tank.
Disconnect, remove and recycle the redundant tank within the environmental code and best practice.
Pressure test the existing oil pipe. (If required for re-use)
Construct a base suitable for the new tank.
Install the new bunded oil tank and connect to the oil feed pipe.
Transfer the oil out of the holding tank into the new installation.
Bleed the oil pipes and prime the appliances and test.
Issue an OFTEC CD10 completion report and register the work with OFTEC, who issue a Certificate of Conformity directly to you.
